The Cisco WS-X4148-RJ45V is a 48-port 10/100Base-T Fast Ethernet switching module designed for the Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series chassis. It provides high-density access connectivity, allowing enterprises to connect large numbers of end devices such as desktops, printers, IP phones, and wireless access points. This module supports prestandard inline power (an early form of PoE), enabling it to supply power to Cisco IP phones and access points even before the IEEE 802.3af standard was ratified, making it particularly suited for early voice-over-IP and wireless deployments.
