AL563A Overview

The HP AL563A is a high-speed 10Gbps shortwave Fibre Channel transceiver module designed for use in enterprise storage networks and high-performance data center environments. Built in the Xenpak form factor, it supports 10GBase-SR and 10Gb Fibre Channel applications over multi-mode fiber (MMF). Operating at an 850nm wavelength, it provides reliable short-reach connectivity of up to 300 meters on OM3 fiber and up to 400 meters on OM4 fiber, making it suitable for inter-switch links, storage arrays, and server connections within the same facility.
