JL242A Overview

The HP JL242A is a high-performance SFP+ optical transceiver designed for 10 Gigabit Ethernet long-reach applications. Operating over single-mode fiber (SMF), it supports link distances of up to 10 kilometers using a 1310nm DFB laser, making it ideal for inter-building connectivity, metro networks, and extended campus backbones.This module features a duplex LC optical connector for secure, low-loss fiber terminations and is compliant with IEEE 802.3ae 10GBase-LR standards as well as the SFP+ Multi-Source Agreement (MSA). This ensures seamless interoperability with HP networking equipment and other MSA-compliant platforms.
