R9G02A Overview

The HPE R9G02A 40GBase-BiDi QSFP+ transceiver provides high-speed 40Gbps connectivity over standard multi-mode fiber using bidirectional optics. Unlike conventional 40G modules that require 8 fibers and MPO connectors, this BiDi transceiver operates over just two fibers with a duplex LC connector, significantly reducing cabling complexity and costs. It supports up to 150m on OM4 fiber, making it highly suitable for short-reach data center interconnects, switch uplinks, and server connections. Hot-swappable and fully compliant with IEEE standards, this module ensures efficient bandwidth utilization, lower power consumption, and simplified migration from 10GbE to 40GbE infrastructure.
